The electronic air cleaner is mounted in the cold air return duct of the furnace. The furnace blower pulls airborne pollutants into the cleaner, where they are met with two step elimination process:
Step 1: Charging Section
- Most large particles are caught in the prefilter screen.
- Smaller particles flow through the screen to the first section of the air cleaner cell, where they are electrically charged.
Step 2: Collector Section
- Charged particles advance through the cell to the collecting section.
- The charged particles are attracted like magnets to a series of oppositely-charged collector plates. They are captured here until washed away.
- Electronically cleaned air is circulated back into your home.
Easy Maintenance
One of the benefits of the elctronic air cleaner is that there are no filters to replace. Simply remove the slide-out collecting cells and wash with cleaning solution and rinse with water. This process is recommended three or four times per year.
